Web 2.5?
Author: franz.skaaning6 jul
(mere…)

xBackends 2.7 released
Author: franz.skaaning23 aug
This release will work as a standard RSS2 feed even if the url is not pointing to a feedtype. The onlinemanual will only show in Internet Explorer (for the moment).
xBackends wich is a replacement/addition to the normal backend.php in the core PostNuke distribution, have been updated a little bit.
The main update is the Atom feed that have been updated to the final Atom layout 1.0 (was 0.3).
A few users was concerned about the feed not validating without variables, that have been changed as well. The feed will show in most browsers as a normal webpage – but most important – it will validate as a normal RSS2 feed. This also meens that the manual only will show in Internet Explorer – until Firefox finds a way to handle XSL styles.

Author: franz.skaaning25 jan
I just released my verision 2.6 with a few new features in it.
Most special is the newly embedded import of theme css file to povide a nice browserversion of the feed. Unfortunately the feed only works in Internet Explorer. But validate it and you will find that it validates just fine.

What is RSS?
Author: franz.skaaning3 apr

I give them a long song, but almost never the same story.
There are may ways of telling what this is. First of all, the tecnical way. Then there is a "how do you use it" kind of way, and of course also the "show my news on your site" kind of way.
When ever I find a description on the inteternet, I read it. Just to be able to answer this question better. (mere…)
RSS – Links and permalinks

A common question about RSS 2.0 is: should link elements be permalinks or should they point to an external page?
The spec talks”>http://blogs.la…ot;>talks about this :
An item may represent a "story" — much like a story in a newspaper or magazine; if so its description is a synopsis of the story, and the link points to the full story. An item may also be complete in itself, if so, the description contains the text (entity-encoded HTML is allowed), and the link and title may be omitted.
Furthermore, there is a mechanism for specifying permalinks: the guid”>http://blogs.la…uot;>guid element .
